Steelmaking Coal a Critical Global RESOURCE Steelmaking coal is a critical component of the global economy today, and into the future. The North Coal Michel Coal Project will exclusively produce high-quality steelmaking coal, also known as “metallurgical coal.” Metallurgical coal is a key material in the steelmaking process. “Thermal coal” is a different type of coal used to generate power, which steelmaking coal is not used for. On the Path Towards Reconciliation
To recognize the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – a day that honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities North Coal sponsored and participated in a community gathering at Yaq̓it ʔa·knukⱡiʔit (Tobacco Plains) where approximately 50 community members gathered and shared a meal as we listened to the words of Residential School Survivors and current leadership on the past, present and future of reconciliation.
